Juz 6: Do you need a helmet?

Series: 30 days 30 Juz 30 Ayahs
Surah: Surah Maida 39

فَمَن تَابَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ظُلْمِهِۦ وَأَصْلَحَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ 
But whoever repents after their wrongdoing and mends their ways, Allah will surely turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Immediately after the ayah for the punishment of theft Allah gives hope that he'll forgive if the person repents and corrects himself. 

Touba means to turn. When you do touba you turn back to Allah. With touba Islah is also important. You have to leave the wrong path that you have taken. 

Allah says He is Ghafoor. This word is from the same root Ghifarah which means Helmet. Helmet does two things it covers/hides and it protects. In the same way Allah is Ghafoor meaning he will hide/cover our sins and will protect us from the Jahanam. 
He is Raheem. Raheem is a type of Rehmah that is countinoous and permanent on the day of Judgment especially for believers. 

In this month, think about your sins and ask for forgiveness and make resolution for self correction keeping in mind Allah is Ghafoor and Raheem.

Friends Food : Some friends work like food. They give you energy. Encourage you to do good. Motive you to move ahead.  Medicine : Some are like medicine. They console you during your difficult times. Help you out. Stand by you. You remember them at the time of hardship.  Disease : Some are disease. Filled with negative energy. Always backbite about other people. Talk negative. Do negative. Compel you to do negative. This is how Allah depicted the consequences of having a diseased friend in Qur'an: وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ ٱلظَّالِمُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى ٱتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ ٱلرَّسُولِ سَبِيلًۭا And beware of the Day the wrongdoer will bite his nails in regret and say, “Oh! I wish I had followed the Way along with the Messenger! يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِى لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًۭا  Woe to me! I wish I had never taken so-and-so as a close friend.
