Stars Can't Shine without Darkness
Drowned in the world Holding the thoughts as they swirled Finding the reason for existence Mind and soul were at a distance The bright light was blinding the eyes Struggling to discover where the truth lies Then the life turned Leaving the soul stunned It was the time, when the night came out Perplexed, asking “why the light faded out?” Unaware of the reality behind Walking in the darkness undesigned It was when the inner self was discovered It was when the true purpose of life was uncovered The question of who I am was answered The question of why I am was answered Turning to God with a heart full of gratefulness Because now I know, stars can’t shine without darkness Maria_thelightseeker (This poem got 2nd position in Rotaract Poetry competition)
