Juz 26: Are our hearts locked?

Series: 30 days 30 Juz 30 Ayahs
Date: 26 Ramadan 1443
Surah: Surah Muhammad 24

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ أَمْ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَآ 

Do they not then reflect on the Quran? Or are there locks upon their hearts?


Here Allah is making to asking us a question to make us think and reflect upon ourselves. The diseases of the heart are the locks i.e Jealousy, hatred, showoff, arrogance etc. All these are aqfaal. Allah talked about many locks by Using plural. Locks upon locks. 

Every ayah opens up a lock and all this happens when you ponder. Tadabur means to follow something. You follow something until you reach your destination. When you ponder and relate the Ayahs of Qur'an to your day to day life. The. Only you are able to understand the mistakes and you start obeying Allah. When you obey Allah, the locks upon the start to get opened. 

Qur'an is not for a specific group of people in this ummah. Rather it is for everyone. Here also, Allah is talking to everyone. 

So reflect upon the Quran and open up the locks.

Friends Food : Some friends work like food. They give you energy. Encourage you to do good. Motive you to move ahead.  Medicine : Some are like medicine. They console you during your difficult times. Help you out. Stand by you. You remember them at the time of hardship.  Disease : Some are disease. Filled with negative energy. Always backbite about other people. Talk negative. Do negative. Compel you to do negative. This is how Allah depicted the consequences of having a diseased friend in Qur'an: وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ ٱلظَّالِمُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى ٱتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ ٱلرَّسُولِ سَبِيلًۭا And beware of the Day the wrongdoer will bite his nails in regret and say, “Oh! I wish I had followed the Way along with the Messenger! يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِى لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًۭا  Woe to me! I wish I had never taken so-and-so as a close friend.
