Juz 18: Are you wasting your time?

Series: 30 days 30 Juz 30 Ayahs
For 18th Ramadan 1443
Surah: Surah Mu'minun 3

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ 

who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous


This is the quality of those believers who Allah declared to be Successful.  قد افلح المؤمنون. After the quality of praying Salah with Khushoo', this is the first quality that Allah mentioned. 

What is Laghw?
Any thing that does not benefit you in this life and hereafter. 

Meaning anything that waste your time. Wasting of time becomes one of the major factors in the failure. Whether the failure is of this life or hereafter. 

How do your waste our time? 

Endless scrolling on social media.
Uncontrollably watching shorts
Gossips and Gossips
Playing useless games and there are much more. 

This time wasted could be used in productivity that makes one a better person. 

Those who stay away from laghw will be the ones having success life in both the words. Make a resolution to try our best to utilize our free time in Ibadah, volunteering, enhancing skills and working hard for a better future.

Friends Food : Some friends work like food. They give you energy. Encourage you to do good. Motive you to move ahead.  Medicine : Some are like medicine. They console you during your difficult times. Help you out. Stand by you. You remember them at the time of hardship.  Disease : Some are disease. Filled with negative energy. Always backbite about other people. Talk negative. Do negative. Compel you to do negative. This is how Allah depicted the consequences of having a diseased friend in Qur'an: وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ ٱلظَّالِمُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى ٱتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ ٱلرَّسُولِ سَبِيلًۭا And beware of the Day the wrongdoer will bite his nails in regret and say, “Oh! I wish I had followed the Way along with the Messenger! يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِى لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًۭا  Woe to me! I wish I had never taken so-and-so as a close friend.
