Juz 16: Being technologically advanced

Series: 30 days 30 Juz 30 Ayahs
For 16th Ramadan 1443
Surah: Surah Kahf 85

فَأَتْبَعَ سَبَبًا 

So he travelled a course,


This ayah is about Dhul qarnain who was a great conquerer. Allah says he uses the means for his great achievements. Sabab actually means a rope, a way to to reach somewhere. 

Every era has different asbab. For Dhul Qarnain means for achievement were different, in the era of Rasool Allah SAW they where different. Today they are different. Today's means are advanced technology.

We muslim are left behind just because we left our means. We have not advanced our selves in latest technology, innovative, artificial intelligence and much more. Dhul Qarnain used his Asbab and he kept on conquering the world. We should also have command over the latest technology and have to innovate. Such a small ayah but holds a big lessson inside.

Friends Food : Some friends work like food. They give you energy. Encourage you to do good. Motive you to move ahead.  Medicine : Some are like medicine. They console you during your difficult times. Help you out. Stand by you. You remember them at the time of hardship.  Disease : Some are disease. Filled with negative energy. Always backbite about other people. Talk negative. Do negative. Compel you to do negative. This is how Allah depicted the consequences of having a diseased friend in Qur'an: وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ ٱلظَّالِمُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى ٱتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ ٱلرَّسُولِ سَبِيلًۭا And beware of the Day the wrongdoer will bite his nails in regret and say, “Oh! I wish I had followed the Way along with the Messenger! يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِى لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًۭا  Woe to me! I wish I had never taken so-and-so as a close friend.
