An Ayah That Explains Islam


An Ayah that gives the answer

Beliefs on:

1) Allah

2) The last Day

3) The Angles

4) The Books

5) The Prophets

Humanity:

Giving of wealth to:

1) The near relatives

2) The orphans

3) The needy 

4) The traveller

5) Those who ask

6) In freeing of Slaves

Worships:

1) Establishing Salah

2) Giving Zakah

Dealings with People/Ethics:

1) Fulfillment of Promises (includes any promise e.g. In daily life, In business etc.)

Personality Trait of the Person:

1) Being Patient during hardships, suffering, stress/war. 


All this is summed up in just one ayah:

Righteousness is not in turning your faces towards the east or the west. Rather, the righteous are those who believe in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Books, and the prophets; who give charity out of their cherished wealth to relatives, orphans, the poor, ˹needy˺ travellers, beggars, and for freeing captives; who establish prayer, pay alms-tax, and keep the pledges they make; and who are patient in times of suffering, adversity, and in ˹the heat of˺ battle. It is they who are true ˹in faith˺, and it is they who are mindful ˹of Allah˺

(Surah Baqarah: 177)


So next time when anyone asks you "What is Islam?"

You have an answer.
